Rocky Super Stalker 8403 Hunting Boots
Hunting Boots Manufacturer: Rocky
Rocky Model: Super Stalker 8403
Review Category: Hunting Boots
Purchase: Hunting Boots Purchased using a Rocky credit from a previous pair of Rocky Boots that failed. Paid $159.00 at Erie Sport Store (Erie, PA)in December 2001.
Things I like about the Rocky Super Stalker 8403 Hunting Boots: Good fit and field performance. Never a hint of wetness despite use in some very wet conditions. Insulation was sufficient for conditins to about 15F.
What I don't like about the Rocky Super Stalker 8403: A little difficult to get on... always had the feeling that I was stressing the internal construction when putting them on.
Hunting Boots Super Stalker 8403 quality: Reliability is poor and Rocky will not stand behind them at all after the 1-year warranty period expires. The soles on both boots split completely across the width of the boot where my foot bends. The rubber immediately above the soles was also split. I noticed this on both boots at the same time. These boots get a maximum of 7-10 days use per year so while they were 3 years old, they were actually used for less than 30 days.
Super Stalker 8403 summary: This was my second pair of Rocky boots that failed (the internal lining of the first pair ripped the very first time that I used them). They work well when they work but a $150 pair of boots should last for more than 30 days of use or the company should stand benhind them (Rocky would not make any accomodation at all for me). I will never purchase anything from them again.
