Purchase: Hunting Gear Misc Bought this rifle from a Sports Authority store here in Central California. The budget I was on is what first attracted me to the product. It was relatively inexpensive compared to the other rifles in that caliber, .30-06. The reputation of the manufacturer, Savage Arms, was also a factor in leading me into buying the rifle. For just over $400, I was able to purchase the rifle, Simmons 3-9x40 scope, sling, and gun lock. It was all in a package deal and has worked out great so far.
Things I like about the Savage 111FCXP3 Hunting Gear Misc: The weight of the rifle is almost unbeatable, 6.5 lbs, compared to other rifles of that price and caliber. Compared to a Remington 710, the Savage is a better bargain and of higher quality for the price. I like the quick removal of the bolt for cleaning and safety reasons. And seeing as thought it has a composite stock, I enjoy knowing that it will take more abuse and show less of it than a word stocked rifle.
What I don't like about the Savage 111FCXP3: Perhaps the only downfall about this package deal is that it only comes in one color scheme. I know there are lots of hunters out there like the look of a camo stock, and unfortunately that option is not availible on this rifle package.
Hunting Gear Misc 111FCXP3 quality: The quality is something you'd see in a rifle of a a higher price. For $400, the overall construction and quality is second to none, in my opinion. The lightweight, durable design makes it a joy to carry long distances if needed. Plus, it packs the knock down power to tackle a variety of different game.
111FCXP3 summary: Bottom line...this is a superb rifle. The cost, quality, reliability, and overall feel of the rifle is comparable to almost any other brand. Whether you are a first timer or seasoned veteran, this rifle package is sure to add some excitement to your hunt.
