Summit Trophy Seat Hunting Gear Misc
Hunting Gear Misc Manufacturer: Summit
Summit Model: Trophy Seat
Review Category: Hunting Gear Misc
Purchase: Hunting Gear Misc Wildlife Taxidermy in Manchester, NH. $55. I was looking for a more comfortable seat to use with my fixed treestands.
Things I like about the Summit Trophy Seat Hunting Gear Misc: First and foremost, what I like about this seat is its comfort. Apart from the seat cushion being suspended from wide, web strapping, the seat also has padded armrests, which greatly enhances its comfort. The seat is joined to a padded back pad which itself is secured to the tree with a bungee cord. In addition to the seat's comfort, it is lightweight, easily transportable and quick and easy to install.
What I don't like about the Summit Trophy Seat: Hmmmmm....the cost. Undoubtedly, this is a good but simple product; it could be priced a bit lower. I have some treestands and climbing devices that cost less than the $55 I paid for the seat. Also, although the seat is adequate, a little bit more size wouldn't hurt.
Hunting Gear Misc Trophy Seat quality: The seat is simply a joined seat and back cushion suspended/attached to a steel frame. It is well constructed. The frame is a simple steel piece that runs vertically with a "U" shaped eyelet at its top. It is from this eyelet that an adjustable length of rope is anchored and to where the other end of the rope is secured with a hook. One doesn't need to adjust the rope tightly around the tree. It is the weight of the user that pulls down on the rope securing it. At the bottom of the vertical frame, is a horizontally mounted brace which is used to both keep the bottom of the frame out away from the tree and provides solid stability when the included stabilizing strap in secured. The seat cushion is suspended from the armrests with web straps which provides for a comfortable sit. When standing, the seat can be easily and quietly lifted up and back out of the way.
Trophy Seat summary: To summarize, the Summit Trophy Seat is a good, simple, comfortable and easily transportable seat. (To transport it one just folds up the seat cushion and backrest, securing everything with the securing strap provided. Wrap the adjustable rope around the folded and secured seat leaving enough slack to allow the user to slip the rope over the shoulder or over one's head to the opposite shoulder. The seat is carried like a courier's pouch or swung further back to rest on the user's back.) I use this seat on ALL my fixed treestands. I have removed all the seats from all my stands and use this Summit Trophy Seat exclusively. When I am using one of my fixed treestands, it is on this seat and this seat alone that I place my backside.
