Purchase: Shooting Accessories I desperately needed something to help me steady my shot.I checked with Cabelas and I was impressed with the Stoney Point shooting sticks. I hunt Moose along a railroad and many times the moose are 250-400 yards away. There was no way that I could hold steady on a shoot that long and be sure of a good kill shot. I knew that the tripod would be better for me than the bipod. I happily paid 99.99 for the sticks.
Things I like about the Stoney Point Tripod Shooting Accessories: The Stoney Point tripod is an invaluable tool that allows me to make a humane kill shot because I can easily hold steady for long range shots. My 7MM Magnum is capable of kills at 300 - 400 yards and the Stoney Point tripod makes it happen.They are compact,lightweight and extrememly durable. I also use them for a walking stick.
What I don't like about the Stoney Point Tripod: I didn't like the fact that the third leg wasn't easily detachable. I could then stow the remaning legs and use the third leg for a lightweight walking stick.
Shooting Accessories Tripod quality: The Stoney Point shooting sticks exceed my expectations for quality and durability. The rubber rest on the shooting sticks prevents scratching my barrel or forestock. The tripods individual legs slide easily and freely from their stowed position to the extended position. There are rubber plugs at the end of each leg that prevents the earth or mud from travelling up the tripods legs. There are clips that lock the legs in the stowed position. The Stoney Point shooting tripod is exceptionally built and the quality is beyond expectation.
Tripod summary: The Stoney Point shooting tripod is probably the best investment that I have made in all my hunting accessories. If you are looking for a superbly crafted hunting accessory this tripod is it. I would recommend it to anyone that requires a steady rest for long range shots. There will be no guessing where you shot went because it will be bang on every time.
