Purchase: Fishing Lures I bought about 4 of these guys to take with me on a 2 week canoe trip up in Minnesota. Target sells them at roughly 6 dollars, Walmart for 5 dollars but my local Wally store lacked a wide selection if your looking for a specific color.
Things I like about the Rapala Shad Rap Fishing Lures: This is the most versatile lure I have ever encountered. Using the standard stop and jerk action I had no trouble getting back to back hits with this lure catching smallmouth bass, northern pikes, and walleye. I tried every lure in my tackle box but the Shad Rap was the only lure that pretty much guaranteed me a catch every time I pulled it out.
What I don't like about the Rapala Shad Rap: Because of the fact that this lure has worked so well for me I have a stockpile of unused lures that has been collecting dust in my tackle box. The unused lures have made excellent christmas tree ornaments though.
Fishing Lures Shad Rap quality: One Shad Rap lasted me over 20 pikes on one trip last summer. Considering a pike's sharp teeth and vicious strikes, these lures can take a beating and fish will keep on striking. I still haven't retired that lure yet. I might lose it in the weeds one day but I'll never lose it to a fish.
Shad Rap summary: On certain days for certain fish other lures might fare better than the Shad Rap, but for the recreational fishermen and beginners alike the Shad Rap will never let you down.
