buck 110 and vangard Hunting Knives
Hunting Knives Manufacturer: buck
buck Model: 110 and vangard
Review Category: Hunting Knives
Purchase: Hunting Knives i got the 110 from walmart for $35. i got the vanguard from a sporting goods store when it was going out of buisness.
Things I like about the buck 110 and vangard Hunting Knives: i like the 110 because it looks good and it has a dagger sharp point which helps when butchering. i like the vanguard because the nice drop point blade which is nice when opening the skin not the stomach.
What I don't like about the buck 110 and vangard: on the 110 and vanguard the edges get really sharp but they do not hold it for anything. If i start with it razor sharp and just slit the skin on a deer and cut out the organs it wont cut butter. Same thing with the 110. when butchering i would have to sharpen it on a wet stone 4 or 5 times just for one deer.
Hunting Knives 110 and vangard quality: They are strong good quality knives its just ether the steel or heat treating sucks. I know 420 is good steel but not when buck uses it.
110 and vangard summary: Dont waste your time with buck. they might look nice but they dont hold an edge for anything. I have switched to cold steel and i have gutted and butchered 4 deer with the same knife and havent done anything to the edge and it will still shave hair off my arm.
