Purchase: I purchased this casting reel off of Cabelas online store for $29.99. I bought this reel because I have loved Shakespeare spinning reels for the past couple of years and was interested in trying their baitcasting reels.
Things I like about the Shakespeare Catera Low Profile Baitcaster: There are a lot of things I like about this reel. For one it is fairly inexpensive. Two, it has a standard looking low profile body. Three, it outperforms its price. You get what you pay for? In some cases but not here, this reel is outstanding. Four, casts are smooth as can bee with no hassle.
What I don't like about the Shakespeare Catera Low Profile Baitcaster: Only complaint really is that on the magnet casting control there are no numbers, just a dial. It is not to big of a deal but I sometimes forget what I set it on. No biggie, this puppy still gets a 5.
Catera Low Profile Baitcaster quality: Low Profile 8.3oz 1 piece sturdily built reel.
Catera Low Profile Baitcaster summary: An amazing buy for any skill level. Great basic style and look at an amazing price. But forget about look the things performance is top of the line. If it broke tomorrow I would og out and buy another.
