Thompson Center Encore Black Powder
Black Powder Manufacturer: Thompson Center
Thompson Center Model: Encore
Review Category: Black Powder
Purchase: Black Powder I bought my encore at Bass Pro Shops In Cincinnati, Ohio. I paid $569.00 for it in 2004. I happen to like muzzleloaders over any other firearm we can hunt with during gun season here in Ohio. I did research and that told me that the Encore was the best bang for the buck.
Things I like about the Thompson Center Encore Black Powder: There are many things I like about it; however most of all is the accuracy. I have made accurate shots at 175 yds consistently. You can also buy other barrels which make it usable for many types of game. It is also the easiest to clean muzzleloader I have ever had.
What I don't like about the Thompson Center Encore: I didn't like paying 569.00 but the quaility is worth it. The only other thing is if you put a riffled barrel on it then it is a single shot, so practice is important.
Black Powder Encore quality: It is stainless and black synthetic so I don't have to worry about it being damaged in the weather. The quaility is obvious after the first shot. Recoil is kept to a minimum even with 150 grains of triple seven and a 300 grain bullet.
Encore summary: Do yourselves a favor and pull one up to your shoulder next time your'e out tellin hunting stories at the local gun store, and you wont stop thinking about it till you get one.
