Shooting Accessories Manufacturer: Thompson Center
Thompson Center Model: Shockwave muzzleloader sabots
Review Category: Shooting Accessories
Purchase: Shooting Accessories I purchased these sabots at Bass Pro Shops in Cincinnati,Ohio for $9.99. I bought them because all of the information I have read about them was good.
Things I like about the Thompson Center Shockwave muzzleloader sabots Shooting Accessories: It took three shots to zero in my Thompson Center Encore this year, and that is a result of shooting a sabot that flies true. Not to mention the knock down power I found them to have. This was the first deer season that I have used this particular sabot, and the results were outstanding. I talked several of my hunting buddies into using them as well and the farthest a deer traveled after being hit with one was 20 yards. I shot a 140 class buck with one at about 100 yards and he dropped where he stood. The other two deer I shot with them also dropped in their tracks.
What I don't like about the Thompson Center Shockwave muzzleloader sabots: The only thing I did not like about this sabot was the exit wound on the deer that were shot at hunting camp. Two of the three deer i shot with them had a 2" exit wound losing some of the meat i hunt for; however i wont complain as i had a succesful season.
Shooting Accessories Shockwave muzzleloader sabots quality: The sabot is a copper jacketed, spire point bullet with a polycarbonate tip. This tip has proved to increase the velocity. It also has a tappered jacket that helps to control the expansion.
Shockwave muzzleloader sabots summary: I wish I had this sabot a couple years ago when I shot what was a 150 class buck. It looked like a good hit we found a decent blood trail and hair. It looked as if I would find my trophy. After looking for two days with three other people and losing the blood trail I was out looking for a new sabot with lots of knock down and I found it. This story ends on a good note though I took that Buck the next year at five yards with my bow. Good Luck next season !!!
