Thompson Center Encore 209x50 In-Line Muzzleloader Black Powder

Black Powder Manufacturer: Thompson Center Encore
Thompson Center Encore Model: 209x50 In-Line Muzzleloader
Review Category: Black Powder

Purchase: Black Powder I'm a transplanted Texan serving in the Navy in Southern California. I was looking for a 50 cal. blackpowder to use during the split seasons here to allow me to hunt the whole term. After some extensive research I decided on the Thompson Center Encore with the walnut stock and forend. I purchased the gun for an outstanding price, $529.00 dollars in November 2004.

Things I like about the Thompson Center Encore 209x50 In-Line Muzzleloader Black Powder: The accuracy of this gun is amazing. I shot 1 inch groups at 100 yards with 100 grains of Pyrodex, 250 grain Shockwave Sabots and open sights. Can't wait to get a scope on it and punch 200 yard paper. With the now available E-Z Extractor cleaning is a breeze. The ability to convert it to a center fire rifle in over 86 calibers, definitely make this an outstanding addition to any gun safe. With a lifetime warranty and the best customer service department I've ever dealt with, it's no wonder they can't make these things fast enough.

What I don't like about the Thompson Center Encore 209x50 In-Line Muzzleloader: Trigger pull is a little heavy for my liking, but easily changed with little effort.

Black Powder 209x50 In-Line Muzzleloader quality: The finish and machining are unmatched in in-line muzzleloading. Quality hardwood stock and forend are beautiful and balance the gun well. Weather proof frame and solid hammer action let you hunt in any situation with confidence without worry of misfire due to moisture or humidity.

209x50 In-Line Muzzleloader summary: If you are looking for an accurate, well built in-line muzzleloader this is hands down the best out there. Just pick one up next time your in BASS Pro Shop's and I guarantee you'll want one. Shoot it once and you'll wonder why you waited so long to get it. I'm buying the 12 guage vent rib barrel with the supplied 3 choke tubes for a Pheasant hunt in February and the 300 Win. Heavy Barrel for my Elk hunt in November 2005. One gun, tons of opportunity.
