Rapala DT-Series Fishing Lures

Fishing Lures Manufacturer: Rapala
Rapala Model: DT-Series
Review Category: Fishing Lures

Purchase: I acquired these lures at Scheels All-Sports in Fargo, ND. I wanted a lure that would stay at a certain depth no matter what the trolling speed, so I could target the critical depths where I knew the fish were. I paid $5.49 a lure.

Things I like about the Rapala DT-Series: I love that the lure runs at a constant depth. This allows great precision when casting or trolling, especially if you do not have much experience trolling crankbaits and knowing the correct amount of line and speed to troll at. They also have some great colors and designs.

What I don't like about the Rapala DT-Series: The one thing I don't like about the bait is that it has a fat profile. I like baits with slender profiles for walleyes because these are the baits that they tend to prefer to eat. I think it would be an unbelievable bass lure.

DT-Series quality: The contruction is top-quality and what you would expect from a great lure maker like Normark. I caught several fish with the lure and it still ran true.

DT-Series summary: All in all this is a fine fishing lure, but I would rather use Rapala Shad Raps because of the long-slender profile of those baits. I think that it is a great bait for people who want to target a specific depth and it gives great confidence because you know you are at or around the depth you want to be at.
