Purchase: Walkie Talkies We bought these last year, actually for use at a local swap meet in case either one of us sees something the other may want. I don't know what we paid, but I'm sure it can be found on the net quick enough.
Things I like about the Motorola Talk About T5820 Walkie Talkies: I like the tone and vibrate mood. Sometimes I am in a crowd and don't want a lot of attention called to myself. This is a nice feature especially when hunting deer or turkey. After falling in love with the use of walkie talkies for hunting we asked that everyone bring at least one up to camp. It kept communication good, especially if someone were to have a problem which thankfully wasn't an issue. They are compatible with many if not all of the common radios on the market.
What I don't like about the Motorola Talk About T5820: I don't need all the adjustments like this has. I just wanted a single device to communicate with. If someone is on our channel we will simply switch up to another. I'm still not real clear on what the fine channel adjustment does. It seems to give the same sound no matter how finely tuned it is. Bottom line I wanted a quality radio without so many gadgets, or put it this way I could have gone cheaper.
Walkie Talkies Talk About T5820 quality: This is a solid piece of equipment. It is very well made and appears, don't quote me water proof if not water resistant. There's a little clip on the back which swivels adding a nice touch.
Talk About T5820 summary: You can't go wrong with this setup. Like I said we could have gotten away with something cheaper, but no doubt these are good ones. One last thing, watch the batteries when hunting in the cold. Try to keep them close to your body to pick up as much heat as possible. Our experience was that if at freezing or below you will have to change batteries every night.
