NAP Shockwave 85gr Broadheads
Broadheads Manufacturer: NAP
NAP Model: Shockwave 85gr
Review Category: Broadheads
Purchase: Broadheads I purchase the shockwaves anywhere from $34.99 to $19.99 over the past 7 years from a variety of locations to include Cabelas. I used them because they fly just like field points.
Things I like about the NAP Shockwave 85gr Broadheads: I have never used another mechanical or broadhead other then shockwave for about 7 years and have only been bow hunting for about 7 years. I have harvested several bucks and does using the Shockwave. There has been only one occurance when there was not a pass through when in the target was hit it he boiler room. That was an nice 8ptr that only when 60 yards. I have confedence that it flies exactly as a field point everytime.
What I don't like about the NAP Shockwave 85gr: Only thing I have noticed was the impact and exit wound were not, on occasion, in line. Meaning, I beilve on angled shots the opening of the blades at different times causes the arrow to deflect and changing its exit path. On a slightly quarter towards shot the deflection has caused the exit to be near the hind quarter. This leaves a difficult trail to follow. However, on these few occasions the deer only went about 50 yards if that.
Broadheads Shockwave 85gr quality: I have never had a problem with the o-ring design even shooting a 300+fps (on premature opening). Never had to tune or adjust bow for differences in field point to broadhead fight. Past-throughs are about 98% when in the correct location. Never lost an animal when hit ethically.
Shockwave 85gr summary: If not for new technology I would contiune to use this mechanical broadhead, accurate and deadly. NAP quality has prove to be superior.
