Purchase: Mr. Big hunter here kind of grew attached to the neighborhood ground hog all summer, that is before I noticed he was planning on spending the winter under my new deck. I thought about putting a .223 into him, but he was a cute little guy, uhh did I say cute? I also didn't think the .223 blast would go over in my townhouse community. Thus I bought the Havahart trap.
Things I like about the Havahart Live Animal Trap: The fact is I grew to like Oscar. That's the name my wife and I came up with after a few drinks one night. It kind of stuck from there. I got a lot of enjoyment from him this Summer and wanted to keep him around as long as I could, just didn't want him destroying the flower bed, or digging into the basement.
What I don't like about the Havahart Live Animal Trap: To date I haven't caught the little Ba$tard, but now it's become an obsession. He's set it off twice, on one of the occasions his fat little back side prevented it from closing and he quickly backed out to see what hit him on the back end.
Live Animal Trap quality: It's metal and very well made. I've seen these things as rusty as an old Chevy and they still function.
Live Animal Trap summary: I can't rate the trap satisfactory as of right now since he's out witted it twice, or maybe it's me he's outsmarted. I don't know, it's kind of a hobby now. I don't know how long it will be before he's done with his project and takes his Winter nap, but one of these days he's coming out to fill his belly and the Havahart will be right there. I'll give it a couple more weeks before I go out to buy a cheap .22 to shoot from the bedroom window sniper style.
