Purchase: I purchased the Kodi-pak from Cabela's for $79.99 plus $8.95 shipping and handling. The reason I purchased the Kodi-Pak was because it had everything I wanted in a knife set. It is a complete system for field dressing, skinning, caping and quartering of big game animals. I find it so difficult trying to carry many needed items in the field and the Kodi-Pak was three tools in one sheath that hung from my belt.
Things I like about the Outdoor Edge Kodi-Pak: The best part I can find is that it is an all inclusive set. you have a deep-bellied skinning knife with a 4-1/2" blade and gut hook, a caping knife with a 2-1/2" blade and a 6" T-handle diamond-cut saw. Also they are razor sharp, I have used my set several times and it is still extremely sharp. The gut hook is really the best part for me because it opens game like unzipping a zipper. Plus all the blades are stainless steel. I even used my T-handle saw to clear limbs from trees in my shooting lane.
What I don't like about the Outdoor Edge Kodi-Pak: I can honestly say that there isn't one thing I would change on my Kodi-Pak. Give me a Kodi-Pak and a roll of duct tape and I can do almost anything. If Gilligan had a Kodi-Pak he would have gotten off that island.
Kodi-Pak quality: The knives and saw are made out of chrome-moly 8A stainless steel, which is a high quality steel. The handles are a non slip material called Kraton, you know for when things get slippery. To hold everything together, you have a full grain leather sheath, no nylon junk from Outdoor Edge. I find the quality very high with this product.
Kodi-Pak summary: Bottom line this is the best knife set I have ever owned. If you want a high quality knife set that you can use for field dressing, skinning, caping and quartering of big game animals at an affordable price than this is the knife set for you.
