Purchase: Arrows I had to have back surgury the end of May, I was told by my back Doctor that I would not ever be able to pull my compound back again. I went on EBAY and found this crossbow at a real deal normal price is over $700 and I got it at $399 and it came with 4 arrows, field points,4 power scope,quiver,horton carbon strike mx arrows.
Things I like about the HORTON HUNTER MAX 175 CROSSBOW Arrows: When I got this I was all confused on what broadhead to shoot,if what I got in the package was anything good to use with this type crossbow, I started using diff. types of broadheads fixed,mechanical. I got on the internet and looked up the diff. types and found its just a matter of what you like but when I tried the fixed they would shoot low about 8 inchs below the fieldpoints and then I shot the Horton 100 gain expandable at 10,20,30,40,50 and they shot like the field points and the scope was built with 5 crosshairs to show the diff. yardages but the bow was stronger and it only took three crosshairs in the scope. So now I can shoot the fiels points only to get the distance instead of messing up my broadheads.And there is no shooting standing up and no pulling back to show movement to shoot.
What I don't like about the HORTON HUNTER MAX 175 CROSSBOW: I took the bow to BassPro shops and had them put Horton sound stoppers Noise Killer Kit on the bow to get it to quiet it down becase it is so loud sounds like a rifle going off, well it help but because of it being so fast at 320 fps. And you had better have shooting sticks to rest it on it is over 7.9lbs. but shoots like a rifle.

HUNTER MAX 175 CROSSBOW summary: I wish I had not had to change to a crossbow, but have to from back surgery,but now that I have to, Im glad I picked the Horton Max. cant wait to hunt with it but it shoots great at the 3-D target,even after I hit the target at 40 yards the broadhead was sticking out over 8 to 10 inch pass.
