Purchase: Hunting Boots Hunting boots are all good now days, especially compared to the past when hunting boots were nothing but vinyl stuffed with paper and the like. Once these vinyl hunting boots became cold you were toast pardon the expression. I suffer from cold feet from the moment I stop walking until I start again which is why I bought the Wolverine Mammoth hunting boots. I probably paid about $150 for them just don't quote me on that. I'd pay $1,500 for a good pair of hunting boots.
Things I like about the Wolverine Mammoth Hunting Boots: They are the warmest hunting boots I've found yet and I've tried more than my share of boots. I always order my hunting boots a size larger than needed so I can really pack on the socks. I also like the fact these hunting boots are nice and stiff in the ankle which is another weakness I have. Last and not least the Wolverine hunting boots aren't too heavy with all of their insulation.
What I don't like about the Wolverine Mammoth: I'd like them to have a little more air flow which is always necessary in a good pair of boots especially when stalking or still hunting. I'd also like to see some sort of speed lacing system like many of the hunting boots on the market today.
Hunting Boots Mammoth quality: So far so good, I don't like putting a lot of chemicals on them so I let the natural waterproofing they come with do the job. There's no sign of drying yet, and the heel looks like its very well secured to the body of the boot.
Mammoth summary: After one season I firmly believe these are good hunting boots. Most importantly they kept my feet warm on some pretty nasty days last year including one that started as rain and switched back and forth betweeen rain and snow all day. I also like the excellent traction they provide while not pulling the mud and muck with me. All and all a great pair of hunting boots.
