Camtracker Deer Cam Digital 5.1 Trail Cameras (a-f)
Trail Cameras (a-f) Manufacturer: Camtracker
Camtracker Model: Deer Cam Digital 5.1
Review Category: Trail Cameras (a-f)
Purchase: Trail Cameras (a-f) Spent my spring bonus on a new deer cam graduating from Stealth to the Deer Cam from Camtracker. Decided digital was the way to go for this deer cam so I shilled out somewhere around $800.00 for the entire set up. The Stealth had good and bad points and for the money it's not to bad of a deer cam but with the little time I have to do such things I wanted to have a good deer cam.
Things I like about the Camtracker Deer Cam Digital 5.1 Trail Cameras (a-f): The Deer Cam 5.1 has what is called a whistle stop feature. Basically as the deer go by and just before your deer cam takes the picture it whistles to get the deer to freeze. This is great feature of the deer cam if your big buck of a lifetime is number one in line but as most hunters know trophy deer like to be toward the end. Kind of like us guys they let the women think their leading the way. Anyway that's one feature of the deer cam I could live without. It has good Sony camera in it that i've actually used in a pinch when I couldn't find our Minolta and it was time to go. Also, another nice feature of the camtracker is you don't have film to develop. Buy an extra memory card and just switch them out each time you visit your deer cam.
What I don't like about the Camtracker Deer Cam Digital 5.1: Cost, like they couldn't build one cheaper! Also as I said earlier I could do without the whistle and wonder how many bucks had the whistle triggered by a doe drawing the bucks attention to that strange thing hanging off the tree. This is a lot of money to hang off a tree and I'd hate to draw any attention to my deer cam to someone that's walking out in the woods and suddenly hears a quiet whistle.
Trail Cameras (a-f) Deer Cam Digital 5.1 quality: Good construction and very waterproof which I can attest to from experience.
Deer Cam Digital 5.1 summary: Forgot to mention they give you two rechargeable batteries for the deer cam. This is a great feature not only do they give you two batteries, but also they are rechargeable. I'm pleased with the deer cam from Camtracker just not sure if I'd buy another one at that cost. They are getting better each year and in some cases the prices are even coming down.
