Purchase: Hunting Gear Misc I purchased this rifle at my local walmart for 398.00 primarily because i wanted to try this new magnum round.
Things I like about the Winchester Model 70 super shadow 223 wssm Hunting Gear Misc: this rifle is SUPER light ,very easy to carry . the stock is textured for better grip and the rifle just seems to fit me well. for 398.00 its a great deal
What I don't like about the Winchester Model 70 super shadow 223 wssm : Ammunition is scarce and expensive. has problems chambering the amunition (had to help several rounds into the chamber by hand
Hunting Gear Misc Model 70 super shadow 223 wssm quality: Very sturdy well built , the safety is second to none , resists nicks and scratches . also has a very tight and firm locking bolt assembly . nice soft gripping surface on the stalk also
Model 70 super shadow 223 wssm summary: Bottom line this is a great rifle for the price . at 100 yards from the prone position useing winchester supreme ballistic tip ammo i shot 2 inch groups consistantly and i am not the steadiest of shooter. accuracy only fell off a little bit at 200 to 225 yards still shot within a 3 inch pattern . i took four prairy dogs with four shots rangeing in distance from 50 to 120 yards . just happened to get a shot at coyote the same week i bought the rifle , from about 220 yards out the round devistated the coyote he didnt even try to run after he was hit . i wouldnt hesitate to take this rifle deer hunting ,but anything larger than a deer might pose a problem with humane kills. I love my new rifle one of the most versetile rounds i have ever shot , out performs my 22 swift any day and blows the doors off of any 22-250 EXCELENT PRODUCT great new magnum round that is good for everything from prairy dogs to large white tail deer..
