Rocky Prowler Hunting Boots

Hunting Boots Manufacturer: Rocky
Rocky Model: Prowler
Review Category: Hunting Boots

Purchase: Hunting Boots In the market for good hunting boots last year. My old ones went missing which means my wife probably through the old hunting boots away. I paid $130 for these boots and now see them everywhere for around $100 sometimes even less at stores that carry a lot of hunting boots.

Things I like about the Rocky Prowler Hunting Boots: First and foremost these are some of the lightest weight hunting boots I've ever worn. They remind me of space boots a lot of us kids use to wear back in the 70's. The Cordura (sp) on these hunting boots will go through the thickest terrain and still be in one piece. The best thing about the Rocky Prowler Hunting Boots is the 800 grams of thinsulate keeping my feet warm. One last thing I'm really liking the tread pattern, it's easy to walk on and doesn't have a lot of drag to it. Some hunting boots have spikes for tread which is great for traction, just not good for when you're trying to be semi quiet walking in the woods.

What I don't like about the Rocky Prowler: My only complaint isn't Rocky's fault, it is I'm so used to shoes and boots being not being truly sized that I ordered these a little too large and that was a little bit of a mistake. When I don't have a couple of pairs of socks on it feels like there is a lot of room in there. I also don't need all the camo, especially since my pants cover half the boot anyway. I often wear my boots for snow shoveling or just trips to the store in winter and don't want to stand out as one of these camo guys.

Hunting Boots Prowler quality: Very well made, as I said earlier I'm really impressed with the cordura on these hunting boots not ripping and tearing. The terrain I hunt is brutal on leather, but these hunting boots with Cordura just shake off the thorns and rocks like it was kevlar.

Prowler summary: This is a great pair of hunting boots that you won't go wrong with. To sell in the one hundred dollar range is a bargain even if I did get a little ripped off when I bought them. I've even thought of buying another pair of the rocky prowler hunting boots just to have in the closet for when these ones go to the big hunting boot store in the sky.
