Treebark cameras Basic 1.3 Trail Cameras
Trail Cameras Manufacturer: Treebark cameras
Treebark cameras Model: Basic 1.3
Review Category: Trail Cameras
Purchase: Available in Western Canada, I saw an ad in the 2005 Alberta Hunting regulation guide for the Treebark digital trail camera unit. I went in with another buddy and ordered one, the 1.3 megapixel model. Very pleased with it.
Things I like about the Treebark cameras Basic 1.3: After reading the product reviews on other digital trail camera units, I called and asked the folks at Treebark some direct questions. They were right up-front. They said their units wake up and shutter a picture in < 3 seconds upon the sensor triggering. Battery life on the sensor will last 6 + months. Camera battery life is dependent upon # of pictures, but averages 100. Cold weather tested in Canada to -35 C. Pictures viewable in the field. For a 1.3 unit, the 1280 x 960 res is surprisingly excellent. I've done some 8 x 10 enlargements too. And the best warranty on the market of one year.
What I don't like about the Treebark cameras Basic 1.3: Not much I don't like yet, but we've only owned it since summer. Will know more this winter. Suggested battery life is accurate thus far.
Basic 1.3 quality: Hardened ABS plastic case. Pipe-through body design so the Python cable lock can easily tighten the unit to a tree. isolated padded camera lens and flash areas resulting in no flash glare. Unique raised 3-D camo design gives the unit a cool look. I had 2 different bears come accross the unit this fall, only a few scratches, no other damage. Camera easily removed for independant use.
Basic 1.3 summary: I have owned 2 other digital trail cameras. I sold both other units. I may make my next unit a Treebark upgrade to a 3.2 or a 4.1, as they told me I could upgrade at any time.
