TrailMac Digital Trail Cameras

Trail Cameras Manufacturer: TrailMac
TrailMac Model: Digital
Review Category: Trail Cameras

Purchase: Given to me as a Christmas gift.

Things I like about the TrailMac Digital: Weather resistant housing. Digital camera. 4.0 MP CCD chip rather than CMOS.

What I don't like about the TrailMac Digital: The setting switches for all functions are in the most inconvenient place imaginable! They are in the bottom of the inside case and are so tiny that you must use some long object to switch them on and off. In order to turn off the motion sensor when the unit is not in use you must remove a flimsy C battery pack from the bottom of the inside case and remove at least one of the batteries. The Olympus digital camera is difficult to insert without accidentally turning the mode switch from Auto to something else, which will not allow the camera to record photos. The camera is connected to the main housing and motion sensor by a too short phone type cable that plugs into the bottom of the inside of the case. Overall, this unit is very user unfriendly.

Digital quality: Poorly engineered.

Digital summary: Hopefully they will remake this unit with the necessary switches and connections in a more easily accessible place.
