CVA Kodiak 209 magnum Black Powder
Black Powder Manufacturer: CVA
CVA Model: Kodiak 209 magnum
Review Category: Black Powder
Purchase: Black Powder I bought this muzzleloader at Walmart for somewhere around $300 with a scope. It was the first muzzleloader I bought and a good one.
Things I like about the CVA Kodiak 209 magnum Black Powder: I really like the camoflauge stock and the grips on it making it easy to handle. The 28" barrel easily handles the 150 grains of 777 pellets I shoot. It accomidates a scope well and shoots tight patterns at 100 yards. With the 245 grain powerbelt aerotip bullet it does some damage to deer. It puts them down with ease.
What I don't like about the CVA Kodiak 209 magnum: The gun is kind of heavy. It is not the best for off handed shots. The only other thing I don't like about it is the ramrod. I dont like it because you have to extend it by screwing it in and out. IT would be much better if it was just a one piece ramrod.
Black Powder Kodiak 209 magnum quality: The overall construction and quality of this gun is very good. I have been hunting with it for two years now and it has taken its beatings and is still in perfect condition.
Kodiak 209 magnum summary: This is a great gun. It was the first one I ever bought and it is going to take a lot for me to ever get rid of it.
