Purchase: Rifle Scopes I purchased the Bushnell Banner Dusk & Dawn at the same time, and for the gun I purchased; a Ruger All Weather 77/22 W.M.R. approximately 5 or 6 years ago for 69.99 US, at a local small, quality gun shop. Money was not the issue, I was very impressed by the amount of light it gathered in the shop that was not very well lit.
Things I like about the Bushnell Banner Dusk & Dawn Rifle Scopes: I believe the scope was new to the market at the time. Optics are crystal clear with no fogging. Light gathering is impressive. Zeroed it the day I purchased it and have not needed to touch it again. Not as important but it looks great on the gun. This scope will fit long or short action guns and still looks sporty. I own $400.00+ scopes and this is the least expensive scope I own and wouldn't think of changing it!
What I don't like about the Bushnell Banner Dusk & Dawn: I would prefer a matte finish over the satin finish it has, but that's nit-picking. I would, however like to be able to re-zero the windage & elevation knobs after the scope is zeroed, for easier distance changes in the field.
Rifle Scopes Banner Dusk & Dawn quality: The scope is rock solid. High quality materials that will take some rough handling and keep it's zero. There was a time I wouldn't think of mounting a Bushnell scope on any of my guns and in my opinion Bushnell's quality went down hill in the '80's & early '90's but with this scope and some other Bushnell offerings their quality went on the rise fast.
Banner Dusk & Dawn summary: In my opinion the Bushnell Banner is the best scope in it's price range and as good as many (not all) Leupold and Nikon scopes I own. I would recommend this scope to anyone especially if your very budget minded, and most of us are. With a vast variety of optics on the market today you really have to be careful of what you put your hard earned dollars in and a brand name does not always mean you will get what you paid for. The Banner is a very good scope!
