Purchase: Fishing Rods My wife got it for me as a gift and although I usually spend a little more on a fishing rod, I had to keep it and have learned to like it. Great fishing rod to take out on the rougher trips where I've got to go through some brush etc.
Things I like about the Shakespeare Ugly Stick Fishing Rods: Very nice action and predictable feel to it as well. One of the more durable fishing rods I've owned and I have some expensive ones as well.
What I don't like about the Shakespeare Ugly Stick: There's a certain reputation about ugly sticks.
Fishing Rods Ugly Stick quality: Excellent fishing rod for the money. I couldn't be happier with the build and as I said earlier this one goes out on the rougher trips.
Ugly Stick summary: I'm very pleased with this fishing rod. Great for catfishing or carp. It's not my favorite fishing rod, but it serves it purpose real well.
