Rapala Sportsmen Classic HM-30 spinning rod Fishing Rods
Fishing Rods Manufacturer: Rapala
Rapala Model: Sportsmen Classic HM-30 spinning rod
Review Category: Fishing Rods
Purchase: Fishing Rods I bought this rod last year on clearance at Wal-Mart. I think I only paid $6 for it, but it retailed of $28. I bought a bunch of rods and was going to sell them on eBay, but this one was a one-piece rod (I didn't realize it in the store) and the shipping would be too much because of the length, so I kept this one.
Things I like about the Rapala Sportsmen Classic HM-30 spinning rod Fishing Rods: I'm glad I kept this rod. It is an ultralight action 5' rod. It is very light weight and sensitive. I was normally using a Daiwa ultralight rod that had a super light tip. The Rapala rod has more backbone to it and I find I like this when fishing with a bobber on top. It gives a better hook-set than my other rods when you have to lift the line off the surface and pull the float through the waer.
What I don't like about the Rapala Sportsmen Classic HM-30 spinning rod: The rod is one piece, but they do make 2-piece ones that are easier to travel with. The cork handle gets kind of dirty and worn after a while.
Fishing Rods Sportsmen Classic HM-30 spinning rod quality: This is a graphite rod with a cork handle. It features 6 guides and has a hook keeper ring near the handle. It is very well made and sturdy.
Sportsmen Classic HM-30 spinning rod summary: If you love ultralight rods and want one that is light & sensitive, but still has enough spine for a strong hook-set than this rod is for you. I love it and now use it more than my other rods.
