Purchase: Broadheads I aquired this broadhead from a friend of mine after I could not get my fixed blade broadheads to fly with the setup I was using. I paid about $30 for them.
Things I like about the Montec Tekan II Broadheads: First of all the flight. They flew exactly like my field points flew and I had to change nothing. I also really like that they come with practice blades, and they are easy to change in and out. this ability helped my confidence. Second, I was able to shoot a mule deer buck this season and I was more than impressed with what this broadhead did. I shot 30 yards and got a complete pass through, but not only did it pass through the deer, it passed so quickly that it continued on and stuck in a tree about 20 yards beyond the deer! When I retreived my arrow there was blood covering the arrow and dripping off the fletchings and nock. I found my deer only about 40-50 yards downt the hill. After opening the cavity I examined the wound to find that the enterance hole was just as big as the exit hole indicating super fast expansion. I also noticed that both lungs had about a 2" cut and I had severed several vains into the heart. I was more than impressed with what this broadhead did! i have shot many deer with fixed blades, and I have been impressed with many, but this broadhead REAllY impressed me!
What I don't like about the Montec Tekan II: There is really nothing that I like about these broadheads. They are sharpe, and easy to manage.
Broadheads Tekan II quality: Very strong. Well put together. Very strong tip, as strong as any fixed blade broadhead.
Tekan II summary: I think that for the money they are one of the best on the market. I have shot several mechanical broadheads in my day, some worse than others. I will always have these available to me in the case that my fixed blades wont fly.
