Purchase: I bought this from Jun at Japantackle.com for 145 dollars plus 15 dollars shipping. It only took three days to arrive from Japan. I wanted a Shimano Low Profile Bait Casting Reel with Super Free technology.

Things I like about the Shimino Scorpion 1000: This model is comparable to the US Shimano Curado 100 which is also Super Free. The difference is that the Scoprion 1000 has salt water bearings and a dial on the outside to adjust the way the anti-backlish pins work. The Scorpion also has an aluminum wiffle spool with a titanium coating. It casts like a dream and is so smooth. It can cast a 4 inch finness worm with a 3Ot Offset hook 30 to 40 feet with no backlash

What I don't like about the Shimino Scorpion 1000: Wish I had more

Scorpion 1000 quality: Excellent Engineering, one complaint is the handle is small for big hands - but upgrades are available

Scorpion 1000 summary: Want one of the best Light tackle reels with smoothness of a Curado and borders on smoothness of a Chronarch? This is the reel for you
