Purchase: Trail Cameras (m-s) I ordered the camera off of cabelas.com because i was in need of an affordable digital game camera to monitor the deer on my proprty. I paid $109.00 for the camera plus shipping.
Things I like about the Moultrie Game Spy 100 Trail Cameras (m-s): I was immediately impressed by the user friendly setup of the camera and its ability to expand memory by inserting my 1GB digital camera memory card. With this card, the camera can take up to 500 high resolution pictures. Also, for the price of the camera, i was amazed at the clarity of the pictures. The 6V battery, although bulkier, has more power than AA batteris for longer field life.
What I don't like about the Moultrie Game Spy 100: The only complaint about the camera would be that the stock memory could only hold about 30 high resolution pics, but i did have an extra card that allows for more. For the price, though, i couldnt really complain because those memory cards are expensive.Also the binders that hold the unit were somewhat hard to mount so i improvised with a ratchet strap for more durability. A single strap with a belt buckle style fastener would top off the value of this product.
Trail Cameras (m-s) Game Spy 100 quality: The construction is very solid. I have had the camera for a couple of months and it has been in the field for the duration of that and has withstood numerous rainstorms without leaking. The range of the sensor is great and the nighttime pictures were as good as most of my buddies cameras that cost double what i paid.
Game Spy 100 summary: Overall, i was very satisfied with the camera and plan on getting another couple as soon as i can. I originally purchased it because i read in a hunting magazine the reviews on it that claimed it was a great buy for the buck. It has already caught a 15 point nontypical buck this summer and i am looking foward to using the camera to seal the deal on this deer during bow season.
