moultrie gamespy 200 Trail Cameras (m-s)
Trail Cameras (m-s) Manufacturer: moultrie
moultrie Model: gamespy 200
Review Category: Trail Cameras (m-s)
Purchase: Trail Cameras (m-s) Purchased from Harlee Rod along with a rechargeable battery, a solar charger and an AC charger. The total cost, with freight, was about $200. I have had a bushnell and a stealth cam in the past and both were disappointing. They both had short battery life, and slow response times. By short battery life, I mean a few days! The slow response meant lots of missed pictures. I watched deer walk right past these cameras, without the camera taking a picture. I wanted a more dependable unit at a reasonable price. The Moultrie brand seemed to have the least complaints from other owners.
Things I like about the moultrie gamespy 200 Trail Cameras (m-s): The battery life is far better than others I've used. The video option is a nice feature. It automatically switches to still pictures at night, and gives you one still photo along with the video clip. Picture quality is plenty good. But really, any camera with 1 meg or better is good enough for scouting. Terminals on the outside of the unit allow the use of a solar charger. The camera has a self diagnotic test feature, so you can have some confidence that everything is working before you leave it in the woods for a week.
What I don't like about the moultrie gamespy 200: The small bungee cords included for mounting are useless. I cut some adjustable straps from a cheap backpack and they work fine. The terminals from the solar charger could be improved to attach to the camera more securely. They haven't come off yet, but I would rather have a more secure locking connection.
Trail Cameras (m-s) gamespy 200 quality: No complaints here.
gamespy 200 summary: For the price, this camera has exceeded my expectations. I plan to buy another one.
