CVA Optima Elite 50cal/270 Black Powder
Black Powder Manufacturer: CVA
CVA Model: Optima Elite 50cal/270
Review Category: Black Powder
Purchase: Black Powder Purcased at bass pro shops for a little over 500.00 dollars. Wanted to save some money on an interchangeable barrel muzzleloader.Topped both with nikon optics.
Things I like about the CVA Optima Elite 50cal/270 Black Powder: Interchangeable barrels, form and fit.
What I don't like about the CVA Optima Elite 50cal/270: Neither the muzzleloader nor the rifle peformed very well. Has a somewhat stiff trigger that isn't consistant. The 270 would not group any of the ammo I tried at 100 yards. Some brands would not even stay on the paper. The 50 cal. did mostly the same thing with 2 out of the 3 bullets used tumbling and not making true holes. Even had an Army ranger/sniper fire the weapon to make sure it wasn't the shooter.
Black Powder Optima Elite 50cal/270 quality: The rifle seems to be very well built.
Optima Elite 50cal/270 summary: Sending it back to CVA for them to inspect, and hopefully send a new one back.
