Purchase: Fishing Rods I was given this rod by a friend at Okuma because the casting models just came out in December and were not yet available in my area. They retail for much less the 100 bucks.
Things I like about the Okuma Solaris SS-C-1002H-2 Solaris Surf Casting Rod 10 foot 2 piece. Heavy action Fishing Rods: High quality, good looks,great feel and balance at a very affordable price. When I put this rod to the test is when it realy stood out. It is very well balanced. The progressive flex over the entire length of the blank realy helps propel large heavy bait rigs to where the fish are. No matter how good of a surf caster you may be.It also cast med sized surf lure nicely. And the fish fighting power is awsome. Although not a good idea. I lifted a 20 lb. shark up on the jetty with it with no problem.
What I don't like about the Okuma Solaris SS-C-1002H-2 Solaris Surf Casting Rod 10 foot 2 piece. Heavy action: So far I can't find anything that I don't like about this rod. The only improvement I could think of would be a TIN coated carbide tip top guide. But that is just extras and not necessary.
Fishing Rods SS-C-1002H-2 Solaris Surf Casting Rod 10 foot 2 piece. Heavy action quality: My Okuma Solaris surf rod is a very high quality rods at a reasonable price. They are made with high quality components such as IM6 graphite blanks, Fuji guides and reel seats, non slip cork tape fore grip and butt.It has a large stainless and rubber butt cap that helps aid in fighting fish. It also makes for a good steady stich while walking ths slippery granite jetties. On top of all that they are nice looking rods with there black matt blank finnish and silver and black thread wrapping . I would put this rod up against any of the 3 or 4 high priced surf rods on the market.
SS-C-1002H-2 Solaris Surf Casting Rod 10 foot 2 piece. Heavy action summary: Just a great surf rod for the seious surf fisherman.One that won't drain your piggy bank.I would recommend this rod to any hardcore extreme surf fisher who wants a fishing tool. There are rods that just get the job done. And there is the Okuma Solaris surf series. I call it a fishing TOOL. A FISH EXTRACTING TOOL.
