Motorola T5820 Walkie Talkies
Walkie Talkies Manufacturer: Motorola
Motorola Model: T5820
Review Category: Walkie Talkies
Purchase: Walkie Talkies I acquired them at Gander Mountain just a few days before the opening of Pennsylvania's Buck season last year. I am guessing I spent about $100 in total on them. They came with a rebate which I have no idea if I ever received, or not.
Things I like about the Motorola T5820 Walkie Talkies: Just a few years back a buddy of mine introduced me to deer hunting with walkie talkies. I wasn't sure what to think at first, but soon grew to like it very much. We hunt around 500 yards apart with a dirt road between us. The first time he called he advised a large group had passed North of him angling my direction. I was more than ready when they passed and more than hooked on the use of radio(with the right hunting partners).
What I don't like about the Motorola T5820: I like the unit in general, but don't like the channel tuning. Like many people I bought these and threw them aside only to open them up at the last moment and didn't bother nor have the time to read the directions. They work well, but getting them both set to the same frequency as the rest of the camp is a pain, especially with gloves on.
Walkie Talkies T5820 quality: The units are very well made, but I would like to see the battery department better insulated in order to protect fragile battery life from the cold weather which affects it adversely.
T5820 summary: I like them, but you don't necessarily need all the bells and whistles. Motorola makes other pairs a lot more simpler and you'll save yourself a few bucks as well.
