Shimano Fishing Reels
Fishing Reels Manufacturer: Shimano
Shimano Model:
Review Category: Fishing Reels
Purchase: Fishing Reels I have several Shimano rods and reels and all have proved to be a bargain. I got my first maybe 10-15 years ago and won't go back to Daiwa or Shakespeare after experiencing the precision of these reels.
Things I like about the Shimano Fishing Reels: Shimano fishing reels do what their supposed to. You don't feel the crank of the reel, you feel the fishing lure going through the water and hopefully the hit of a fish. Too many of the fishing reels I've tried keep you remembering you're using a fishing reel especially after long hours of fishing.
What I don't like about the Shimano : The only downfall of the Shimano reels I've owned is they tend to wear down after a few years of heavy use. I shouldn't say where down, but rather their not as tight as they used to be. I've become somewhat of a collector of fishing rods and reels for that matter so I don't always get to the point of a reel loosening up, but I know they do. I should point out I'm retired and fish every day possible.
Fishing Reels quality: Great design and construction. My only beef is them loosening up as mentioned above.
summary: These are the best fishing reels on the market hands down and I think I've tried most of them. Precision pieces of equipment when new. In my opinion there's Shimano and there's the rest.
