FEATHER FLEX RIGOR RABBIT Calls Lures Scents

Calls Lures Scents Manufacturer: FEATHER FLEX
FEATHER FLEX Model: RIGOR RABBIT
Review Category: Calls Lures Scents

Purchase: Calls Lures Scents I bought my Rigor Rabbit at the Bass Pro Shop in Springfield, Missouri. I bought this particular decoy because I found predator hunting is a very demanding sport. I have yet to see a coyote.. seen several bobcats and had hoped this would give me the extra edge I needed to bring more predators in . . .

Things I like about the FEATHER FLEX RIGOR RABBIT Calls Lures Scents: I liked the idea... the rabbit shakin in it's death throes look. The jerky, spinny movement that would make a coyote concentrate on the decoy and not on (me) the hunter. The decoy itself looks very realistic... I have a set of Feather-flex turkey decoys and found this as good as them.

What I don't like about the FEATHER FLEX RIGOR RABBIT: I set the unit up at home and thought it was a bit too loud for hunting any kind of predator. I thought maybe I would give it a chance and that if the coyotes were interested in the movement that would outway the fact it was indeed very loud and noisy. The first time I took it out in the field it ran for about ten minutes, and I had to leave my stand to set it back up because the styrofoam pad it sits on is not very stable. I then set it back up and before I could return to my stand it fell over again. Probably works real good on a concrete floor... but you could probably pin it down I thought. So I took a feather flex turkey stake and pinned the base down. It seemed to work ok. FOR... about 5 minutes and then it stopped. I stepped out of my stand for the third time and upon further inspection found that the soldered connection to the motor had broken off at the motor. I put it away.

Calls Lures Scents RIGOR RABBIT quality: I found the construction lacking. The solder joints to the motor were over loaded or maybe the blades it was attached to were weak. The styrofoam base is somewhat useless unless you put it on a flat level spot... like a floor, or concrete pad... ?

RIGOR RABBIT summary: I am very disappointed, after looking how this was put together and the concept I think I could design one myself for a lot less money and that was more reliable. That very day the unit broke I went home and found some spring material from a drain cleaning cable.. cut a length, attached some feathers to it and then tied some monofiliment from it to my stand and THIS WORKED!!!! Manual operation but it was flawless and worked.
