Purchase: Fishing Reels I received the item as a gift. It was originally purchased from a internet seller on ebay.
Things I like about the Daiwa Reel Daiwa Emblem Emp Pro 5500 Spinning Reel Fishing Reels: The reel is new for 2004 and is the best casting spinning reel I have ever used. It provides great casting distance and is able to handle larger species of fish. I have used many premium model reels over the years and would not want to switch back to one of them. It has a Aluminum oversized spool and feels constructed with quality materials and parts. It replaced the emblem ZA series that was discontinued. The reel has a smooth solid drag.
What I don't like about the Daiwa Reel Daiwa Emblem Emp Pro 5500 Spinning Reel: Presently there is nothing I don't like about the unit other than I wish there was a baitrunner option. Possible I would like an upgrade in some materials in it but daiwa seems to have done something right this time. Ironically, I have previously never been a fan of Daiwa saltwater reels.
Fishing Reels Daiwa Emblem Emp Pro 5500 Spinning Reel quality: It is a solidly constructed unit that has premium materials used throughout the unit. It was made to handle the corrosive abuse that saltwater fishermen experience.
Daiwa Emblem Emp Pro 5500 Spinning Reel summary: If you only wanted to own one saltwater reel, I would recomend this one. As I said previously, the only fault I find in it is that there is presently no baitrunner option.
