Purchase: Fishing Misc Equip I bought the unit at Wal-Mart for $15. I know that fish prefer live bait, and more specifically like live bait from their own body of water. I wanted to be able to tap into this by catching my own bait when I go catfish fishing.
Things I like about the Fitec E-Z Throw Super Spreader Cast Net Fishing Misc Equip: Maybe the best thing about the net is that, as advertised on the box, "you can throw like a pro in 15 minutes." No special skills are required, I didn't even need to watch the video that came with mine. The net really works, too. It's possible to get all the bait you need with a handful of well-placed throws. It's great to be able to get your own bait for free, and the net pays for itself within a few outings. Finally, the net is very portable, just throw it in the 5-gallon bucket you're going to put your bait in and walk to the fishing hole.
What I don't like about the Fitec E-Z Throw Super Spreader Cast Net: The lines that cause the net to close can get twisted occasionally and it can be a hassle to get them untangled -- especially if the sun is going down or you're holding a flashlight! If the unit gets badly snagged and will not come loose, very, very hard pulling can cause the monofilament to stretch (which messes up the net's function). This isn't a defect in the net, but it's a fact that if you're using the unit from shore you may have to do a little unplanned wading or risk damage to the net.
Fishing Misc Equip E-Z Throw Super Spreader Cast Net quality: I have had no problems with the quality of the components of my net over the course of a season's use. The net itself is made out of SPS monofilament and is quite strong. The materials used are strong, lightweight, and of high quality. This is a "high wear" item which inevitably will rub on rocks or snags which can take their toll over time.
E-Z Throw Super Spreader Cast Net summary: When this net wears out, I'll buy another one, and I'd recommend it to any friend. Not only do you get the most efective bait for your area for free, catching your own bait is fun. More than that, catching a fish with bait you got yourself is a thrill in itself. The net actually makes you a better fisherman as well, because you learn firsthand what bait lives in which areas.
