Purchase: We were at a friend of my wife's a little while back and low and behold they have this gorgeous pond just at the edge of their property. The girls were chatting away so I figured I'd run down to the local hardware store and pick up a cheap outfit in order to give them some time alone of course. The final bill was like $40 some all dollars, but a lot of that was a few rubber worms and some hooks.
Things I like about the Zebco 33 Spincast Combo: It reminded me of my Fathers old 33. No matter how much money he had he still wouldn't purchase a nicer rod. I can just hear him saying this will catch it as good as anything. It's a pretty straight forward rod and reel combo. Some people may love it as a primary, but I'm just going to throw it in the back of the truck for those unexpected occasions that come up now and then. I'm an ultralight fisherman myself.
What I don't like about the Zebco 33 Spincast Combo: As I said it's pretty plain and simple, I would have liked to see it be a little longer to help with some bank fishing and when you want to get way out there for the big boys.
33 Spincast Combo quality: Nice little unit, I can see the reel getting a little mucked up with dirt after a few uses, especially if I hand it off to my son. All in all a well made little unit.
33 Spincast Combo summary: This will make an excellent beginner set for my Son. It kind of bridges the gap between the snoopy pool and when he'll be able to use the open face. For now he has difficulty with the Snoopy pool.
