Purchase: Hunting Gear Misc I bought the Puddleset Anchors online at the companies website. That's the only place I could find them. I bought them because of the review I read in DU magazine and after talking to a local guide that uses them on his guided hunts. They are about $30.00 / dozen.
Things I like about the Puddleset Decoy Anchors 34" Anchor Hunting Gear Misc: They made my life so much easier setting decoys and retrieving them after the hunt was over. I was able to set 2 1/2 dozen decoys in less then 5 minutes and cleanup was greatly reduced. Hooking them to my decoys was easy as promised.
What I don't like about the Puddleset Decoy Anchors 34" Anchor: The fact that I had to buy them online was kind of a pain but they came in less then a week. Also, the fact that that you are limited to 30" of water could be a bad thing but since all I hunt is Mallards, Woody's, and Pintails, that didn't matter much to me.
Hunting Gear Misc 34" Anchor quality: They are pretty well built. It looks like they are all hand made not mass produced. The video on the website shows them going thru some pretty rigorous testing but I wouldn't do what they did. I would be afraid the rod would break. It seems more then sturdy enough for anything that I would need.
34" Anchor summary: I think this is the only one of it's kind on the market. I culdn't find anything like it anywhere else. The Puddleset anchor does make setting decoys a lot easier and becasue the lines are gone there obviously is no way they can get tangled or unwrapped in a decoy bag. I like them. I can see that they will last for a while too.
