Things I like about the NCSTAR 6-24x50 Mil Dot Mark III Rifle Scopes: This unit is perfect. It gives you the flexibility of a large zoom range 6-24 in a great 50. Side focus, open turrets, 1/4 Moa adjustments at 100, 7 Levels of illuminated mil dot. Sturdy double screw rings. Incorporated shade. Amazing clarity of optics. All this for 169.00... what else should we ask for.
What I don't like about the NCSTAR 6-24x50 Mil Dot Mark III : Turrets adjustments not very crisp on click (it does not sink on click but rather floats around click) sometimes you cannot determine if you are on zero or + 1/4 or under. When illumination is on light will bleed in the scope around the optics exposing interal mechanics. For some people they will find hard to focus on target in very dim lights with a very bright surround. Myself I only shoot daylight and I use it only against dark backgrounds. Suits me. More MOA on mil dot would have given a better range (for all of ridge hunters) But put zero at 200 and this will give you more than enough for your holds.
Rifle Scopes 6-24x50 Mil Dot Mark III quality: Whole scope shows very good machining, mounts are a little toward russian solidity but indeed very sturdy and I would trust them completly for good zero. Overall very impressed except small details like light diffussion, and shallow click. I am sure the clicks may only be on my model but light is a construction aspect.
6-24x50 Mil Dot Mark III summary: Great scope for the price. If you see it you will agree with me. It was love at first sight for me. If you buy it and you don't like it then get ready to spend over 1000 because you will not find these features on anything under this amount. Believe me I looked at all of them. (clarity, side focus, zoom level, tactical turrets, mounts, illuminated, mil dot). Negative aspects, forget about it. Most likely you will not use the clicks because you have enough holdback with the mil dot. Illumination gets used only rarely. BUY THIS THING YOU WILL NOT REGRET
