Purchase: Tree Stands Bought from a local sporting goods store for $250. I bought this stand because Summit has such a good reputation for quality.
Things I like about the Summit Bullet Backpacker Tree Stands: Comfort. The seat is very comfortable. The stand is very quiet and the weight is resonable. Its very sturdy and well made.
What I don't like about the Summit Bullet Backpacker: Set up is not as easy as i would prefer. I have a grand ol man stand which is much quicker and easier to use. I do not like the foot stirrups. I like to tilt my stand with my feet while climbing and this is a little harder to do with the stirrups. I plan to remove mine and add foot straps. This is a foldable stand and to set up you must fold the front part of the stand and attach to a bolt. The bolt size seems a little small to me. I would prefer a little larger bolt. I don't really like summits backpack straps. I replaced mine with padded straps.
Tree Stands Bullet Backpacker quality: Construction is very good. I believe this is a very well made stand, but could be improved. I would rather see it include stirrups and foot straps so hunter could choose which method they preferred.
Bullet Backpacker summary: This is a well made stand which would satisfy most hunters needs, however, I much prefer the "Grand ol man" treestand for ease of use and quietness. However, if your looking for a well made, reasonably light weight, and comfortable stand this may be the stand for you. I would look closely at the Grand Ol Man for comparisons. Every hunter has their own preferences, but with over 35 years hunting experience, I thought i would add my cents worth.
