Purchase: Rifle Scopes I wasn't sure what to know what to write a review on until I read the article of the VX III which is a scope I know and love. My family knows I'm all about hunting gear so rather than buying me presents for Christmas and my Birthday they just buy gift cards to Cabela's. I saved them up and when I went shopping for a new rifle scopes the newest thing on the market at the time was the Leupold VX III. I think I paid about $600 total for the scope.
Things I like about the Leupold VX - III Rifle Scopes: What I like best about the Leupold VX III rifle scope has to be the contrast of the scope. I was real surprised that contrast wasn't mentioned in the article on these scopes. It's one thing to have a good field of view which I think nearly any scope can provide, but the contrast on these scopes is amazing. Where I hunt whitetails there's a four points per antler law meaning the buck must have at least one antler with four points or more. The fine contrast from these scopes allows me to quickly see if the buck has four points on an antler or if I should just let him go past.
What I don't like about the Leupold VX - III: I like everything about these rifle scopes. If I could add something it would be a large stand up knob to quickly adjust power with just my thumb. These seemed to be popular a few years back, however for some reason most rifle scope makers went back to producing the standard ring style to adjust magnification.
Rifle Scopes VX - III quality: Leupold = first class. I don't know anybody who has had problems with a rifle scope made by Leupold. Kind of a set it and forget it thing.
VX - III summary: Like the article on rifle scopes said if you are looking for a first class rifle scope that most anyone can afford then I suggest you look at the VX III line of rifle scopes from Leupold. These scopes are rugged and offer a clear precise sight picture and remain on target season after season. For the money they are excellent rifle scopes.
