Purchase: Black Powder I bought this gun in Virginia and I chose this particular gun because I had heard how accurate the Omegas shot. The gun is also a very aesthetic piece of work. The gun was a bit pricey at $500 but this was the first year they were out.
Things I like about the Thompson Center Omega ,50cal laminated stock with stainless steel barrel Black Powder: I love this gun. Just as I had heard, once sighted in, it shoots amazing groups. Not a lot of long range shots around here but definitely shoots a tight grouping at 100yds. I have found the best combination of ammunition to be 295 gr. powerbelts with 150 gr. of pyro pellets. With this load it will put a kicking on ya but it does the job. I have killed 3 deer with it and none of left the tracks they stand in.
What I don't like about the Thompson Center Omega ,50cal laminated stock with stainless steel barrel: The only thing I dislike and also read in another review was the ram rod does fly out of its locked position after it is shot.

Omega ,50cal laminated stock with stainless steel barrel summary: I have many rifles that I love and I would almost choose to use this black powder during rifle season. I shot a deer last year from 120 yds and it dropped where it stood. My best friend liked mine so much he went out and bought one a week after I got mine.
