Traditions lightning bolt muzzleloader Black Powder
Black Powder Manufacturer: Traditions
Traditions Model: lightning bolt muzzleloader
Review Category: Black Powder
Purchase: Black Powder I purchased this gun from a Bass Pro catalog. I actually purchased it on looks camo stock, ss fluted barrel with built in muzzle break. i paid around $300-$330.
Things I like about the Traditions lightning bolt muzzleloader Black Powder: It is very comfortable to handle and shoot. It is very balanced as far as weight distribution making it easy to shoot off hand
What I don't like about the Traditions lightning bolt muzzleloader: It doesn't shoot sabots very accuratly but it does shoot powerbelts very well. I do not like the 2 piece nipple/breech plug 1 to many parts there. It will shoot 1 inch groups at 100 yards as long as you swab the barrel between each shot which can be a little tough in hunting situations. If you don't swab between shots the best i got was 5 inch groups
Black Powder lightning bolt muzzleloader quality: For the most part the gun is built well. I wish it had a little more of a closed breech action because water can enter if you are not carefull. Bolt action is a little stiff but I have never had a problem with it or a miss fire
lightning bolt muzzleloader summary: This gun has treated me well. I have killed numerous deer with it. I bought this gun the first year they came out with it 5 or 6 years ago. When looking at the new models it looks like most of my concerns have been taken care of. My words of advice for anybody wanting to purchase this model of muzzleloader is to look it over good. Pull the nipple and the breech plug and look for damage to the threads. Easy to shoot and easy to clean a GOOD DEPENDABLE GUN.
