Purchase: Hunting Boots I bought these boots at Gander Mountain after looking at different boots. I have always worn Rocky Boots and decided that I wanted this particular boot. I paid 169.99 for them.
Things I like about the Rocky Boots Bear Claw 3 Boot Hunting Boots: I like the tread desing of the boot and the insulation, I lve in Northern Minnesota where it tends to get a little "chilly" in the winter. I also like the cordura material, it has proven to be a rugged material. Gortex is alwyas a nice option but here in the winter you don't have much of a moisture problem.
What I don't like about the Rocky Boots Bear Claw 3 Boot: I don't like how they size their boots. I have worn their boots for twenty years and have always worn the same size. I also own the Rocky Ice Stalker boots and they are a great boot. I had my wife pick up the Bear Claws and when she brought them home they frlt a little small and like the top of the boot was squishing your toes. I thought maybe after wearing them a little they would feel fine. It never happened, they are just smaller than my previous pair. They ended up killing my feet and I only wore them one day of deer season. I contacted the company and they wanted me to return them to where I bought them so that they could be sent in for inspection. That policy is different than what they used to do. She also told me that all the boots are manufactured the same as they always have. I have to disagree. When I purchased my new Ice Stalkers I had to go a whole size larger. To find a pair that would fit. Now that is two boots that I bought in the same year that this has happened to.
Hunting Boots Bear Claw 3 Boot quality: The construction of the boot is great. I have never had a problem with the quality of their boots at all. This particular pair of boots is built just as rugged as any that I have owned.
Bear Claw 3 Boot summary: bottom line: If you are ordering Rocky Boots on line I would suggest that you order a whole size larger. I really don't know what I am going to end up doing with these boots because I don't have a clue where the receipt is. I guess I expected a little more from them. I don't know too much expectation? Either way, I am not happy with the boot because I think HOW they make them (at least with sizing) has changed.
