Things I like about the Berkley Fire Line #6 Fishing Line: It was by far the best $30 investment of our trip. Two years ago I took my oldest two sons to Canada fishing primarily for Walleye, Northern Pike, and SM Bass. We were rigged with 3 different lines on day 1. Bully Braid, Fire Line and straight Mono on our 3 rods. Our experiment didn't last long once the Walleye started to bite. The braids kept coming apart on Bully Braid, which made it difficult to tie on different jig heads and lures. It didn't cast well at all. The Mono line was shot after the 2nd or 3rd fish and needed to be retied. My youngest son had the FireLine on his rig and he went almost 3 days before we had to retie and only because he got hung in the rocky bottoms of Perault Lake. Needless to say, by day 2 I had all our Walleye rigs with Fireline by day 2 and the fishing experience was much more enjoyable for us.
What I don't like about the Berkley Fire Line #6 : The cost was the only thing I didn't like about the line.
Fishing Line #6 quality: The Fireline keeps it's shape even after breaking and threads easily for your next jig or lure selection. It casts better than any other braided line I've ever used and stands up exceptionally well even when you're catching fish like Walleye, Northern Pike.
#6 summary: Picking out fishing line isn't the most glamous task when you are preparing for your dream fishing vacation, but I found quickly that the right line can make a world of a difference. FireLine is the best product that I've seen on the market for the type of fishing that we did in Northwest Ontario. The strength, sensitivity (for those light Walleye bites!), resilience and useability of FireLine made it the best choice and I'll be using it again this year.
