Purchase: Fishing Misc Equip I needed to charge the battery of a small trolling motor. I don't really know that much about battery chargers, but got what I thought would be a decent one for the money at Wal-Mart. This thing is a lower-end offering, running about 25 dollars, and you pretty much get what you pay for.
Things I like about the Vector 2/4/6 Amp 12 Volt Battery Charger (model VEC086) Fishing Misc Equip: It looks and makes noises like a real battery charger. It even has lights on it!
What I don't like about the Vector 2/4/6 Amp 12 Volt Battery Charger (model VEC086): It takes forever to charge a battery. Yes, I know that it says on the box that it can take up to 8 hours to charge a battery, it's worth it to get one that will charge more quickly. Also, the charger sometimes stops charging and indicates that the battery is fully charged when I don't think that's the case. Anyway, I plan on upgrading.

2/4/6 Amp 12 Volt Battery Charger (model VEC086) summary: I am all for getting something no-frills that still does the job. At the same time, it really makes me mad when someone sells something that's not any good. I honestly can't believe Wal-Mart sells something that takes so lng and is of such low quality. It looks like it may be one of those things where Wal-Mart owns or has an exclusive contract with the manufacturer, and think s it's ok to pull one over on the consumer. After all it's not their 25 bucks. Anyway, I would highly recommend spending a little more to get a better charger.
