API Grand Slam 2500 Tree Stands
Tree Stands Manufacturer: API Grand Slam
API Grand Slam Model: 2500
Review Category: Tree Stands
Purchase: Tree Stands I purchased this stand about 5 or 6 years ago from Basspro shops. A friend of mine had recommended it to me.
Things I like about the API Grand Slam 2500 Tree Stands: It is the most comfortable tree stand there is. I own about 10 climbers and this one is my favorite. I take it everywhere I go.
What I don't like about the API Grand Slam 2500: The only hangup with these is with the chain. The covers need to be replaced after a year or so of a lot of use. The other thing with the chain is where it goes around the tree, it does not stay uniform making it harder to come down.
Tree Stands 2500 quality: The construction of this tree stand is great. I have climbed trees with this stand at least 40 days twice a day for the past 5 to 6 years and see no wear except for the cloth and the chain covers.
2500 summary: I remedied the chain problem by taking a quarter inch flexible tube and duct taped it to the part outside of the stand making it stay in a circular shape. Keeping the chain tight enough so that the stand is not tilting downward once you get up the tree makes if difficult to go all the way down as far as I would like. I use a rope tied to the the front of the stand between the top and bottom to raise front of the bottom part to get closer to the ground. The comfort of this stand out weighs these issues. I sleep in mine without ever a fear of falling out. I have killed probably 10 to 12 deer and 15 hogs out of this tree stand in the few years I have had it. This stand is considerably less weight than Summitt tree stands that friends of mine have. I also have a Shooting star and do not like it near as well. Would rather have another one of the grand slams or another make.
