Purchase: Rifle Scopes I got this scope from Cabelas new for about 125.00 I used it for card target shooting with a shotgun. Commonly known as Turkey Shoots.
Things I like about the BSA 6X24X40 Contender Scope Rifle Scopes: The optics were fine. Adjustments with the target style turrets were crisp and clean.
What I don't like about the BSA 6X24X40 Contender Scope: It just can't hold up to the heavy recoil and pounding of a 12 ga. shotgun and I would imagine some of the heavier recoiling rifles would not do well with this scope. With the number of practice shots and competition it will begin to walk and lose zero in a very short time.
Rifle Scopes 6X24X40 Contender Scope quality: The construction and features are great. It's more suitable for a lower caliber rifle.
6X24X40 Contender Scope summary: Although I've read some comments and reviews that state this is a good scope for calibers such as .308,30-06 and higher, I think the BSA Contender series is not for use with heavier recoiling guns. The construction is probably just fine for high volume shooting with .223 and below. In my opinion this is a low to middle of the road scope not intended for volume shooting.
