Purchase: Shooting Accessories Bought this particular deer barrel at a local sporting goods shop about 2 years ago for my Remington 870 pump. I paid about $150 for the barrel.
Things I like about the Hastings 12 ga Cantilever rifled barrel w/muzzle brake for Remington 870 shotgun Shooting Accessories: This gun/barrel configuration firing Hastings 3" slug ammo consistently places 3 rounds within a 1" dia circle at 100 yards. Other shooters watch my results in absolute amazement. I have done this many times both at the range as well as at state managed hunt qualifications. The muzzle brake helps to minimize the recoil to relieve some of the discomfort of shooting 3" 12 gauge shells. I've taken 3 whitetails with this rifle since I bought it and each one was dropped with a single shot. Clean entry and exit wounds with little wasted meat - but vaporized heart/lungs.
What I don't like about the Hastings 12 ga Cantilever rifled barrel w/muzzle brake for Remington 870 shotgun: Nothing not to like about this combo! I am totally please with the barrel, the gun and the ammunition.

12 ga Cantilever rifled barrel w/muzzle brake for Remington 870 shotgun summary: I highly recommend this gun/barrel combination to anyone who is seeking accuracy and repeatability in a 12 gauge shotgun to be used for deer hunting. Many times I have watched others shoot along side of me at the range with a wide variety of other barrel and gun combinations and they don't even come close to the accuracy and precision I achieve. I shot Mickey Mouse ears at a recent managed hunt qualification and even the range officer wanted to see what I was shooting. I highly recommend this combination.
